Tuk tuks are a three-wheeled form of motorcycle taxi, favored as a cheap public transportation option and commonly found in Asian countries such as Thailand and India. There are a few hundred thousand tuk tuks roaming the planet, but I think we’ve managed to find the prettiest one and it resides right here in Southern California!
Founded in August of 2021, The Tipsy Tuk Tuk is a mobile drinks cart equipped with four customizable taps, able to serve any combination of prosecco, wine, rosé, sangria, hard seltzer, cider, beer, and even batched cocktails. In addition, ‘Ms. Tipsy’, as the mobile bar is affectionately known, can serve a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages including lemonade, iced tea, kombucha, and more.

We caught up with Niki, San Diego native and owner of The Tipsy Tuk Tuk, to hear more about how she got started with this most unique of mobile bars.
- Hey Niki, thanks for speaking with us today. Who or what inspired you to start your mobile bar business?:
A combination of my passion for travel and love of events inspired me to start my mobile bar. I have spent most of my career in the weddings and events industry and I wanted to bring something unique to the market. With two of the most important things at any event being the food and the drinks, I wanted to look into mobile bar options. Having traveled to Thailand and seeing tuk tuks all over the street, I felt like I could do something different and memorable with them, and so The Tipsy Tuk Tuk was born!
- You've definitely done that! What have you enjoyed most about running The Tipsy Tuk Tuk?
My favorite part about running my business is being involved with such unique and beautiful events. I also love interacting with all the guests and seeing how happy the tuk tuk makes them!
As you can see from the photos included in this blog feature, the events that Niki and The Tipsy Tuk Tuk take part in are certainly beautiful, thanks in no small part to how stunning Ms. Tipsy looks.
Sitting resplendent in gleaming white, this is no ordinary tuk tuk, and whilst smaller than your average mobile bar, it's sure to draw big crowds. It just looks so damn cute! Glass doors open up to reveal stainless steel drinks taps set on a gorgeous white tiled wall. Floral arrangements add colorful finishing touches and the whole package just begs to be photographed.
Whilst the bar may be tiny, its serving capacity is definitely mighty. Four taps plus shelving and room for infused water or soft drinks ensure that your beverage selection bar can be varied as well as spectacular to look at. The extra surface space means that you can also employ Ms. Tipsy as a brunch or garden party service station. Mimosas on tap anyone?
The Tipsy Tuk Tuk package includes a server, recyclable drinkware, custom signage and other essentials. Customizable add-ons include balloon garlands, pressed flower place cards and flower arrangements. Fully electric and safe to bring inside, the tuk tuk can brighten up even the smallest corners of your event venue.

So Nikki, what are your upcoming plans for the business and what are you most looking forward to this year?:
My plans for this year are to keep filling up the calendar and eventually I'll be adding a second tuk tuk to the fleet! We have some August, October and November 2022 availability. Our 2023 calendar isn't open just yet but we will be taking bookings for next year from June.
