The events industry, and more specifically the mobile bar community, is an incredibly inviting and helpful place. Small businesses, often owned by friends and family, work together to ensure that their customer’s day is the very best it can be.
The Pony Keg Mobile Bar is a prime example of an organization that does just this. Operating out of Humboldt County, CA, you only have to look at their Instagram feed to see how intertwined they are with their local community.
From promoting local venues and artists, to serving up drinks from Northern Californian breweries and showcasing local florists, these guys live and breathe Humboldt County.
When asked about the inspiration behind The Pony Keg Mobile Bar, the owners told us that “the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020 gave us quite a bit of time to reflect on what, and who, we missed. We started The Pony Keg Mobile Bar to bring people together again. And honestly, what better place to do that than Humboldt County? Open spaces, home grown products and some of the best craft beer, spirits and wine are here in our unique corner of the world.”
“The Pony Keg Crew has really leaned into community events. You can catch us at local nonprofit fundraising events serving local beer and wine. Or at the farmers market and craft fairs selling coffee, tea blends and mocktails made from locally sourced ingredients. In our opinion, there is no place better to get hitched than the Emerald Triangle. As long as there are good vibes, good booze and our community present, every event is our favorite!”
Whether The Pony Keg Mobile Bar is serving at kid’s skate festivals, live music events or intimate weddings, their rig is hard to miss. Originally a horse trailer dating back to 1974, it has been painstakingly restored to its current incarnation as a gorgeous mobile bar. The Pony Keg consists of multi-level service windows, butcher’s block wood shelving, white walls, and four taps serving your choice of beer, wine, seltzer, kombucha, sparkling water or whatever else your heart desires. A white exterior, silver trim, colorful foliage and a nose painted baby pink add the finishing touches to an aesthetic that is charming and playful without forgetting its rural Humboldt County roots.
And The Pony Keg package doesn’t stop there. Guests can also make use of wooden benches, boho blankets, and a set of repurposed beer kegs made into a table and chairs, as well as outdoor games such as giant Jenga and Cornhole. What more could you need?!
What’s next for The Pony Keg Mobile Bar? Well, potentially world domination as they hope to expand their mobile bar fleet this year, but first its doing what they do best – supporting their local community, promoting Humboldt County and bringing joy to their patrons.
“This year is already one for the books. COVID-19 has reorganized many people’s priorities, especially ours. We are beyond excited and honored to be able to help people celebrate love, friendship, and community by providing stellar service, local booze and ingredients sourced from the surrounding area!”
