You’d be forgiven for thinking that once you’ve seen one horse trailer bar, you’ve seen them all. But with every mobile bar business that Roll To encounters, we see more and more that each founder has their own uniquely creative approach to the industry.
Teresa, owner of Sips and Baubles, is one such example of an entrepreneur that is doing things her way. Not content with a mobile bar that provides cocktails, bubbly and tapped beer service at events, the Sips and Baubles trailer also doubles up as a jewelry boutique on wheels, allowing you to sip whilst you shop – aka the dream!
Serving Northern California, Sips and Baubles was founded in 2020, with Teresa citing her mother as her greatest motivation for launching the business.
“My mom was my biggest inspiration. When I came across a mobile bar in Texas, I showed her and said “mom, this is right up my alley as I love a great drink!”. She ran with that one comment and started researching the industry further. My mom was the one that pushed me to turn my vision into real life! It’s been a whirlwind since and I’m so grateful for what she’s helped me to create.”
Since the bar’s inception, Teresa has worked at all kinds of events, from weddings and baby showers to backyard birthdays and photoshoots. Wherever she’s serving, Teresa’s horse box bar, built by Hudson Trailer Company, is hard to miss. The very first thing that you can’t help but notice is the trailer's spectacular roof which opens upwards to reveal a beautiful, embossed copper pattern beneath.
Enclosed in white sheet metal, the bar’s glossy exterior fits seamlessly into any event or occasion. Breaking up the roof's patterned wallpaper are old-fashioned lights (matching those on the outside), as well as four taps ready to serve the alcohol or mocktails of your choice. An exterior wooden panel and the unmistakable horse box silhouette ensures the trailer retains its rustic, equine heritage.
Customers can also customize the bar with signs, floral arrangements, balloon garlands and outdoor furniture.
Whether the Sips and Baubles trailer is showcasing Teresa’s latest jewelry creations or serving at a private event, it really does stand out from the crowd.
If you’re hosting a smaller event or need an extra bar for a larger gathering, Sips and Baubles currently offer two additional bar carts, including a trendy champagne station, with another satellite bar option being built out and on the way.
For a venture that is just a couple of years old, Sips and Baubles has been a roaring success. Teresa is almost fully booked for 2022 with over 20 weddings scheduled throughout the summer season and just a few available weekends remaining.
You can also regularly catch Teresa at The Makers Boulevard, a market in Downtown Brentwood built to showcase local artisans and community businesses. Visitors can grab a drink from the bar whilst trying on locally made jewelry.
With so much going on, what does Teresa enjoy most about operating her company?
“This is a tough question to answer as I love all aspects of running a mobile bar. From the hosts who hire me and the guests who love to party and rave about our drinks, to my community who has welcomed and supported my small business, helping make it what it is today – I’m so thankful for them all!”
Sips and Baubles currently have a small number of dates left available in 2022 and books are now open for 2023. This is a one-of-a-kind mobile bar, so don’t miss out!
Thanks so much to Teresa for speaking with us and we look forward to seeing what’s next from this amazing mobile bar business.
