Introducing: Mint and Mae Mobile Bar

A little twist on our Introducing series as we sat down for a quick-fire question round with owner of Mint and Mae Mobile Bar, Alexis.

Based in Santa Clarita, CA, Mint and Mae Mobile Bar started life back in the 1950s as a travel trailer.

With some help from her family, owner Alexis has turned the rusty shell of her vintage camper, into an eye-catching bar on wheels.

From cocktails and mocktails, to coffees, teas, ice cream, and pastries, Mint and Mae serve up a little bit of everything.

And they'll dress up the trailer to match any occasion!

We asked Alexis for some more info on how and why she started her business and what she loves most about bringing the party to her clients.

Hey Alexis, thanks for taking the time to chat with us about your mobile bar!

First up, what inspired you to start your own mobile bar business?

My education and working background are in Culinary Arts and Hospitality.

I have a love for classic and vintage items, so that mixed with my passion for food and drinks inspired me to start a business of my own.

I’ve attended many events in my professional career and knew I needed to get myself into this line of work!

Awesome. Once you had decided to take that step, what was the process like buying and building your mobile bar?

I am very, very lucky that my dad has a background in construction and was able to build out and transform our trailer when we purchased it to be flipped.

Purchasing was the easy part, building it how I wanted was a whole other story!

Perfect for outdoor events, with plenty of space for bar service

What have you enjoyed most about running the business? Any favorite milestones or steps of the journey so far?

I love the freedom to do whatever I want creatively with my business, and I love the clients that I now call friends.

Each year we grow, and we add on new items or packages so that our clients have more options to pick from for their special events.

It’s great to support our customers and that they support us right back by returning to book with us again.

What has been your biggest challenge in launching and running your mobile bar business?

I would say the start-up costs definitely surpassed my initial thoughts of what it would take, especially having to build during Covid.

Also, we've had to make sure to stay on top of the different permits and licenses that are required.

Keeping clients happy is the name of the game!

What are your upcoming plans for the business and what are you most looking forward to this year?

We recently started to shift what we offer and can provide to clients as a business.

Not only do we love serving events such as weddings or baby showers, but we have enjoyed being a vendor at larger fairs and themed parties.

We look forward to continuing to expand into new areas and event sectors!

The perfect addition to events both grand and intimate

And finally, what’s your 2023/24 availability?

So far, we are pretty flexible but Summer and Fall months are our busiest so if you’re interested in hiring our mobile cocktail bar, reach out as soon as you can!

Sounds great - thanks for answering our quick fire questions Alexis!

Now available for events taking place in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, you can contact Mint and Mae via their Roll To profile.
