This month we posed the following question to the mobile bar community;
“No matter how small, what is the one amazing accessory, unique utensil, fantastic fixture or boldest item of barware that gets your guests talking at events?”
As always, the recommendations did not disappoint.
Read on below for tales of guest’s wonder, amusement and amazement as well as links on where to buy the accessories yourself!
You know what we’ve always thought?
Bachelorette parties need MORE glitter.
Fortunately, Allie at The Wandering Taps agrees.
She ensures that there is glitter everywhere her guests look (and drink).
“I love to add edible glitter to champagne toasts!
The last bachelorette bash I served had more glitter in the pool than in their drinks! 🤣
It was definitely a fun time!”
We dread to think what those AirBnB cleaning fees came to…
Add a little extra sparkle glasses of fizz with edible glitter
What’s a mobile bar’s biggest competition?
No, not the big chains of coffee shops or corporate breweries.
It’s those pesky kids and their cute lemonade stands.
How are you supposed to compete with unregulated sugar quantities, low overheads, family investment dollars and butter wouldn’t melt smiles?
Rather than calling in Health and Safety inspectors to citation the 10-year-old money grabbers, Alexis over at Mint & Mae has the perfect accessory to make your soft drinks stand out from the crowd.
“One accessory that I always bring with me is my straw puncher!
I can make my drinks look great, but without my straw hole puncher it’s game over.
We recently started making freshly squeezed lemonades to order and therefore make them right in front of guests.
The machine we use amazes them BUT when we hole punch an opening for the straw on the lids, they always say, “wait what was that!”
This item makes things so much easier.
We like using lids for our lemonades therefore the gadget is super important.”
Pro tip: start implementing your straw punching game whilst the kids are back at school.
Maximize your profit now and crush the competition 😊

Is 3 hours of watching American Pickers on The History Channel each night normal?
OK, I admit, I may have a problem.
That’s probably a little too much time to be sat on the couch watching Mike and Frank drive the backroads of America in search of rusty gold.
But, a productivity killer it may be, that show has taught me to spot an opportunity for upcycling when I see it.
It looks like Lauren at The Horseshoe Bar has a keen eye for antique archeology too.
"My favorite accessory would have to be my brass beer tower and custom beer tap handles.
The handles came from the salvaged wood of a 150 year old bar in Massachusetts.
We love giving new life to items, just like we did with our mobile bar!"
Beautiful!
We’re all about sustainability and salvage here at Roll To so if you can upcycle historic materials like Lauren did, then go for it!

Sticking with the vintage theme, Ashley at The Bar Coco told us how stepping back in time with regards to her glassware has had her guests buzzing about bitters.
"I recently transferred my bitters to a vintage bottle and it is such a conversation starter.
I feel like guests think it’s some kind of potion or something! They are so interested in bitters all of a sudden.
I wasn’t prepared for so many questions about bitters, so I’ve had to brush up on my knowledge!
Not only does it make everything look more appealing on the bar top, but when I’m making an old fashioned with a mixing glass and throw in a few dashes of bitters using my cute new bottle, people are so impressed ☺️
It’s the simplest things sometimes!"
My advice when when faced with difficult questions from guests?
Just nod your head, smile, and pour them another!

Neon signs - perfect for transporting your guests back to a nostalgic, golden age of America.
Conjure up the bright lights of Hollywood, New York or Chicago in the Roaring 20's.
Plus, they help guests navigate their way back to your bar when their vision has gone a little blurry!
"Our neon sign we had custom made through Amazon gathers multiple compliments every time we are open.
It also makes for catchy social media posts.
It has been 100% worth purchasing!"

P.s. for some bonus neon sign love, check out our coverage of Adelante Mobile Wine Bar’s event, booked via Roll To, hosted at The Valley Relics Museum recently. Here's the full story.
Speaking of Adelante Mobile Wine Bar…
We’re noticing a theme here...
Vintage is in!
If you’re serving whiskey, bourbon or wine, why not do so alongside the barrels from whence the beverages were born?
“Our 50-gallon oak whiskey barrels are full of history.
They fit in at all types of events and can be dressed up to fit all sorts of themes.
They are always a conversation piece for clients and can be used as extra serving stations, cocktail tables, photoshoot props, or combine both of them with a butcher’s block counter top to create an extra satellite bar!”
Multiple practical uses for something looking that cool?!
Sounds like a great deal to us.

Whilst we like to keep things light here at Roll To, where there's alcohol involved, safety is always of paramount importance.
